Grammar

Yes, still being spammed badly enough to keep comment approval on, which is such a nuisance. This one amused me. What a cheek!

obviously like your website but you need to test the spelling on several of your posts.
Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth
however I'll surely come back again.

  1. The spam has been out of control lately. I don't know what's going on; I hadn't been spammed hardly at all in the past 2-3 years. And then all of a sudden, this week has been a giant spam storm. I turned on comment approval, too. Hopefully this is just temporary.

    1. Same here Chris, and as others are saying, they are being spammed big time too. Do you reckon it might be coming from North Korea? We, as your ally, will fix them good an proper, side by side with your leader.

    1. Walt, although my spelling is poor, I can tell you are a good speller, but I do have issues about where you place your catastrophes.

  3. Luckily w/press picks most of it up however like Chris says, it's out of control. A lot are comg from the same server but with different names - they find some old posts and use them as their platform.
Is someone called Jack amonst your lot ?

    1. Cathy, no, no Jack. No obvious names unless I look further. A post I wrote a few years ago, Ripponlea 2, is being formidably attacked.

  4. I was also being spammed but haven't (touch wood) had any today. None of them have been as original as that. Mostly they have copied pieces of other people's comments.

    1. EC, yes, that is the other spam I have been getting. At first I thought it was a legitimate comment, and take the prize, it was one of your comments that was partly quoted.

    1. Hehe Lee. Spelling was rather a big deal, as was pronunciation. I got the strap for saying pitchers instead of pictures.

  6. That's an old one! I remember getting it several years ago and being extremely annoyed because I know my spelling is good.

    1. River, it amused me because of its lack of grammar. It is just spam. No spammer ever really reads......well, actually a couple have but that was in the distant past.

  7. What a weirdo. Why even bother saying you'll come back when you just said you find the site very bothersome?? Do people seriously have nothing better to do??

    1. VA, a valid point if there was a real person typing away on my blog, but these are just computer generated nonsense.

  8. This is not quite the same spam issue, but it IS about spelling.

Yesterday I walked past a handwritten sandwich-board (in front of a shop) that had two horrible spelling errors. I could have corrected the chalk writing myself, but hesitated. The owner did come outside and made the changes, but would she have preferred I kept my spelling suggestions to myself?

    1. Hels, then it wasn't a case of attracting customers by them coming into the shop to point out the spelling errors? Don't tell me it was a bakery selling sandwich's or fresh cut sandwiches.
